Army Cadet Reported Missing from Training Centre in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old army cadet undergoing training at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) in Secunderabad has been reported missing since the early hours of April 3. The Bollarum police have issued a look-out notice following a formal complaint lodged by the drill instructor of the institution.

The cadet, identified as Pratik Kumar Choudhary, was a trainee of the TES-51 course at the Cadet Training Wing (CTW). According to the police, Choudhary was last seen by his roommate, Avinash Pandey, around 11.45 p.m. on April 2, shortly after the lights-out parade. When Pandey awoke at 3.45 a.m., he noticed Choudhary was not in the room but initially presumed he had stepped out briefly. However, concern mounted when Choudhary failed to report for the scheduled morning physical training session.

Drill instructor Subedar Ravilla Rama Rao alerted authorities after initial attempts to trace the cadet within the facility were unsuccessful. A broader search was launched by Major Praveen Negi, covering key transit points such as JBS, Secunderabad Railway Station, Bollarum, and Alwal. Simultaneously, Choudhary’s family in Uran, Raigad district of Maharashtra, was contacted, but they confirmed having no knowledge of his whereabouts.

Police described Choudhary as being approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, of dark brown complexion, and noted he was last seen wearing a black tracksuit and T-shirt. He has identifying moles on his right neck and left palm.
