Pakistan Murdabad’ Slogans Echo at Hyderabad’s Charminar After Friday Prayers

Hundreds of people gathered at Hyderabad’s Charminar on April 25 after Friday prayers to protest against the Pahalgam terror attack. The protestors raised ‘Pakistan Murdabad’ slogans condemning the killing of 28 Indian tourists. The demonstration was spontaneous, led primarily by young worshippers exiting the mosque. Eyewitnesses said that the slogans filled the air for several minutes, attracting widespread attention. Police personnel present at the site monitored the situation closely and ensured that the protest remained peaceful. Local community leaders emphasised that the protest was against terrorism, not religious in nature. Social media videos of the slogans quickly went viral across platforms. Security has been heightened around Charminar and surrounding areas following the incident. No untoward incidents were reported during or after the protest. Authorities have appealed for calm and cooperation from all communities.
