Students Protest Alleged Voyeurism at Hyderabad’s VBIT Girls’ Hostel

 Students of Vignana Bharathi Institute of Technology (VBIT) in Ghatkesar staged protests on April 25 against alleged voyeurism incidents. Protesters accused the administration of negligence in securing hostel premises. It was alleged that hidden cameras were found inside the girls’ hostel bathrooms. Students demanded immediate action and thorough investigation into the issue. The college management denied negligence and promised cooperation with police. Local police have registered a case and begun forensic analysis of electronic devices. The protests disrupted academic activities at the college throughout Friday. Several political groups have also extended support to the protesting students. Telangana State Commission for Women has sought an immediate report. Further protests have been threatened if strong action is not taken soon.
