Akhilesh Yadav Slams Yogi Govt Over Caste Bias in Postings, Alleges BJP Role in Communal Unrest

Prayagraj | April 21, 2025: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government, accusing it of caste-based discrimination in police transfers and postings, while also alleging the BJP’s role in inciting communal violence across India.

“In Agra, out of 48 police stations, only 15 SHOs belong to PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) communities—rest are all ‘Singh bhai log’,” said Yadav. He cited similar trends in Mainpuri, Chitrakoot, and Mahoba, claiming an overwhelming presence of officers from the Thakur (Singh) community.

Yadav alleged that the BJP thrives on a divide-and-rule formula, manipulating caste and religion to consolidate power.

“This party always divides people—on religion or caste lines. Wherever riots happen, BJP’s hand is never far behind,” he said.

Citing an incident from Kannauj, Yadav claimed that BJP workers attempted to bribe a poor man to throw meat into a temple to trigger riots. When he refused, he was allegedly coerced into doing it, leading to violence.

“Our probe found that 17 BJP leaders were jailed under the National Security Act after that incident,” he added.

The SP president also took a personal dig at UP minister Nand Gopal Nandi, saying,

“No matter how many dips he takes in the Ganga, his sins won’t wash away.”

Yadav claimed he personally refused entry to former BJP mayor Abhilasha Gupta who had approached the SP to join.
