Hyderabad | April 22, 2025
Swadesh Parikipandla, a Telangana NRI Advisory Committee member, has appealed to district authorities to extend educational benefits to the children of Gulf migrant workers.

He submitted a petition asking the state government to prioritize Gurukulam admissions and provide scholarships for children of labourers working in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar.

Speaking after a meeting with officials in Khammam, he said that many returnee families are struggling to secure educational access due to lack of official recognition and income proof.

The panel has recommended a data-driven beneficiary list and state quota support in educational schemes under the minority and tribal welfare departments.
