In a disturbing incident, a 17-year-old intermediate student died while two others remain in critical condition after suspected drug misuse at a private hostel in Secunderabad.

Police said the trio allegedly injected themselves with a cardiac stimulant typically used in clinical settings, sourced through a medical assistant working at a local clinic.

Initial reports suggest they were attempting to boost physical stamina. All three collapsed within minutes, and emergency teams were called by hostel mates. One student died en route to the hospital while two others are in the ICU. Investigators are questioning pharmacists and medical staff in the area. A narcotics case has been registered
