Balakrishna Bags ‘0001’ Fancy Number for ₹7.75 Lakh in Hyderabad RTA Auction
Hyderabad | April 22, 2025: Tollywood actor and TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna emerged as the top bidder in the latest Hyderabad RTA fancy number auction, securing the coveted ‘0001’ registration number for a whopping ₹7.75 lakh.
The auction, conducted by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA), fetched a total of ₹37.15 lakh, with multiple bidders competing for premium registration numbers under various state and district codes.
Other highlights from the auction include:
- ‘0009’ purchased by a Hyderabad-based software company
- ‘0099’ fetched ₹4.75 lakh
- ‘9999’ sold for ₹99,999
- ‘0019’, the most affordable of the premium lot, sold at ₹60,000
RTA officials confirmed that a majority of the high-value bids were made by corporate entities registering numbers under their company names. The popularity of fancy numbers continues to surge among celebrities and business firms, often seen as a symbol of status and brand identity
