PM Modi Departs for India, Cuts Short Saudi Visit After J-K Terror Attack

Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his official visit to Saudi Arabia and departed for India on Wednesday.
The decision came after a deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam that left several dead, including an Intelligence Bureau officer.
PM Modi was scheduled to hold bilateral trade and energy talks in Riyadh.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, he will now chair a high-level meeting on national security.
The Indian delegation cancelled all scheduled events, including cultural diplomacy sessions.
The Prime Minister was expected to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday.
Sources say the two leaders may now connect virtually in the coming days.
Modi expressed condolences to the victims’ families and vowed strict action against the perpetrators.
This marks the second time an overseas trip by the PM was cut short due to national security concerns.
Home Minister Amit Shah has already begun security reviews with top intelligence officials.
