Empuraan Box Office Collection Day 9: Mohanlal’s Film Nears Rs 300 Crore, Just Rs 4 Crore Away from Surpassing Manjummel Boys

Empuraan, the latest film starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mohanlal, has been surrounded by controversy since its release. However, despite the attention on the drama surrounding the film, its box office numbers continue to impress.
On its 9th day, Empuraan earned approximately Rs 3 crore, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk, bringing its total domestic nett earnings to Rs 91.2 crore. The film is not only a huge hit but also a major milestone in the careers of both Prithviraj and Mohanlal. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, it has broken numerous records during its 9-day run, with the majority of its earnings coming from the Malayalam version.
Out of the Rs 91.2 crore total, Rs 83.3 crore came from the Malayalam release, while the Tamil and Telugu versions together contributed Rs 5.55 crore (Rs 3.13 crore from Tamil and Rs 2.42 crore from Telugu). The Hindi version has earned Rs 2.06 crore. On Friday, the film’s team revealed that Empuraan had crossed the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide, with Rs 30 crore gross from regions outside Kerala. As per Sacnilk, the film’s current worldwide collection stands at Rs 236.25 crore, bringing it close to surpassing the Rs 240.5 crore of Manjummel Boys. While Empuraan has already become the highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year, it will be interesting to see if it can surpass Manjummel Boys’ domestic collection of Rs 141.61 crore
