Sikandar Box Office Update: Salman Khan’s Film Struggles, Earns Rs 3.75 Crore on Day 6

Salman Khan’s much-anticipated movie Sikandar had a lukewarm start at the box office, grossing approximately ₹26 crore on its opening day. Despite releasing just before Eid, the film didn’t see the expected surge in collections, earning ₹29 crore on the day of Eid. By the sixth day of release, the film had managed to accumulate a total of ₹90.66 crore.
On March 30, Sikandar hit the screens, marking a Sunday release just a day before Eid. However, its opening was notably weaker compared to previous films starring Salman Khan. While the film earned ₹26 crore on its first day, it failed to build momentum on Eid, which is often a lucrative period for Bollywood films, earning ₹29 crore. For comparison, Tiger 3, also a Sunday release, had raked in ₹43 crore on its opening day during Diwali.
The film saw a steady decline in collections after Eid, with Thursday’s earnings dipping to ₹5.75 crore. By the end of Day 5, the total box office collection stood at ₹90 crore. On Day 6 (Friday), the film had a slow start, making just ₹1.91 crore by the afternoon shows. As of now, its cumulative earnings are ₹92.16 crore.
Sikandar’s Performance So Far:
Given that films with Salman Khan’s star power are typically expected to hit the ₹100 crore mark quickly, Sikandar‘s performance is below expectations. If the film continues to see collections in the range of ₹5-6 crore, as it did on Thursday, it may not reach ₹100 crore on Day 6.
Some industry analysts have compared Sikandar’s performance to Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero and Ranveer Singh’s 83, both of which faced difficulties at the box office despite big budgets. While Sikandar has outperformed Salman’s earlier Eid release, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, it was also produced on a much larger budget, which may lead to higher losses.
Despite the challenges, there is hope that the film could see an upward trend over the weekend. With competition from other Hindi films like The Diplomat and Chhaava, as well as regional releases like All The Best Pandya, the film will need a significant boost in collections to stay afloat in the coming weeks.
Box Office Collection Breakdown (Day-wise):
- Day 1 (Sunday): ₹26 crore
- Day 2 (Monday, Eid): ₹29 crore
- Day 3 (Tuesday): ₹19.5 crore
- Day 4 (Wednesday): ₹9.75 crore
- Day 5 (Thursday): ₹5.75 crore
- Day 6 (Friday): ₹1.91 crore (afternoon shows)
Total Earnings (Day 6): ₹92.16 crore
While Sikandar’s journey at the box office is far from over, it remains to be seen whether the film will pick up pace over the weekend or continue to face tough competition.
