Hyderabad | April 21, 2025: A tragic case has emerged from Bachupally, where a 32-year-old woman, Namburi Krishna Pavani, allegedly poisoned her four-year-old daughter Jeswika before attempting to take her own life on April 18. The incident came to light on Sunday.

According to police, Pavani, a resident of Aditya Gardens in Bachupally, had been struggling with long-term mental health issues. Despite undergoing therapy, her condition reportedly showed no signs of improvement.

In a moment of distress, Pavani allegedly laced a cold drink with poison and gave it to her daughter. Jeswika died after consuming it. Pavani then attempted suicide and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad.

Speaking to media, Inspector J Upender Rao of Bachupally Police confirmed that a case of murder under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered against the woman.

The case underscores the growing concern around mental health support and crisis intervention, especially within families under emotional distress.
