Shivaji Satam on ACP Pradyuman’s Exit from CID: “I Haven’t Been Told If My Track is Over”

Shivaji Satam, the actor who has portrayed the iconic role of ACP Pradyuman in the popular Indian crime series CID for over 22 years, recently shared his thoughts on the ongoing speculation about his departure from the show. Known for his unforgettable dialogue, “Kuch toh gadbad hai Daya,” Satam has been a household name since the show first aired in 1998.

In light of recent reports suggesting that his character will be written off after a bomb blast, Satam expressed uncertainty about his future with the show. He clarified, “I have no idea about this. I have taken a break for some time, and the makers are aware of what lies ahead. If my track is over, I am okay with it, but I have not been informed about that yet.”

The 72-year-old actor confirmed that he is not currently shooting for CID, but he is enjoying a much-needed break. “I’m planning to go on holiday in May since my son, who lives abroad, is coming to India,” he said. “Playing ACP for 22 years has been an amazing journey, and I have truly enjoyed it. I have worked hard, and everyone deserves a break.”

Satam added that whether his track would be revived is up to the makers of the show. In the meantime, he is embracing his break and looking forward to spending time with his family.

Reports also suggest that television actor Parth Samthaan might be joining the CID cast, although this has yet to be confirmed. Samthaan, known for his roles in Gumrah, Kaisi Yeh Yaarian, and Kasautii Zindagii Kay, may bring a fresh dynamic to the show. As of now, Shivaji Satam is content with his long-running role and is awaiting further developments from the show’s creators
