Liquor Shops to Remain Shut on April 6 for Sri Ram Navami

Hyderabad: In view of the upcoming Sri Ram Navami celebrations, the Tri-Commissionerate police have ordered the closure of all liquor outlets, including wine shops, toddy shops, and bars attached to restaurants, across Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda on April 6 (Saturday) between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

However, the restriction will not apply to bars operating in star hotels and registered clubs, according to the official notification.

The closure orders were issued separately by:

  • C.V. Anand, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad
  • Avinash Mohanty, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad
  • G. Sudheer Babu, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda

Authorities have also issued a stern warning that any violation of the order will invite legal action under relevant provisions of the Excise and Police Acts.

The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure a peaceful and orderly observance of the religious festival across the city.
