HC Questions Hyderabad Police on CCTV Monitoring, Missing Persons Cases

The Telangana High Court on Tuesday pulled up Hyderabad police for lack of seriousness in missing persons cases.
The court questioned the effectiveness of the city’s extensive CCTV surveillance network.
It expressed shock that cases are piling up despite having over 7 lakh cameras in the city.
The bench remarked that technology without accountability is meaningless.
A suo motu PIL has been taken up on delayed police response to missing complaints.
The court demanded a full report on cases unresolved beyond 30 days.
Judges also noted gaps in coordination between police stations.
They asked the Home Department to conduct a third-party audit of camera monitoring.
The next hearing has been posted for May 6.
Police have been asked to submit individual case timelines.
