Revanth Reddy Targets Modi at AICC Meet, Warns Against ‘Godse Politics’

Ahmedabad/Hyderabad – Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made some of the most fiery and politically charged statements at the recently concluded All India Congress Committee (AICC) session in Ahmedabad, taking direct aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accusing him of dividing the nation through communal rhetoric.
“Modi is sowing discord between religions and pushing the country towards division,” Revanth declared, addressing over 1,700 delegates gathered under the Congress’ “Nyaypath: Sankalp, Samarpan aur Sangharsh” theme.
The Chief Minister didn’t mince words as he alleged that the BJP-led government is working against Gandhian principles and instead “promoting the ideology of Nathuram Godse,” the man who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi. The comments sparked strong reactions among party workers and are likely to intensify the ideological clash between the Congress and the BJP in the months leading up to the general elections.
Congress Welfare Push and Telangana Model
Positioning Telangana as a Congress-governed welfare model, Revanth highlighted several flagship initiatives from his administration, including farmer loan waivers, which he cited as an example of how “Congress governance delivers real relief to the people, not just slogans.”
Revanth also used the platform to reiterate the party’s push for a nationwide caste census, claiming Telangana had already set the precedent.
“We have honoured the promise made to Rahul Gandhi. A caste census was completed in Telangana. Now the rest of the nation must follow,” he said, framing the census as a vital tool for ensuring social equity and affirmative action.
BJP Not Welcome in Telangana
In a defiant tone, Revanth assured that Telangana would resist BJP’s expansionist ambitions.
“We will not allow saffron politics to take root in Telangana,” he stated, evoking loud applause from Congress cadres.
The AICC meeting marked a moment of assertive leadership for Revanth Reddy, as he positioned himself not just as a regional strongman, but as a national voice in the Congress’ ongoing ideological battle with the BJP.
