YSRCP Alleges Political Vendetta Following Arrest of Two Former Bureaucrats in Andhra Pradesh

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of engaging in political vendetta after the recent arrests of two former bureaucrats linked to the previous administration.

Dhanunjaya Reddy, a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, and Krishna Mohan Reddy, who served as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, were arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 17, 2025. The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into an alleged ₹3,200 crore liquor scam.

YSRCP leaders have condemned the arrests, claiming they are based on fabricated evidence and are part of a broader strategy by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP)-led government to target political opponents and former officials. They argue that the actions undermine democratic institutions and set a dangerous precedent for administrative governance.

The TDP government has defended the arrests, stating that they are part of a lawful investigation into corruption and that due process is being followed. However, the YSRCP maintains that the timing and manner of the arrests indicate a motive of political retribution rather than justice.

The incident has intensified political tensions in Andhra Pradesh, with calls for transparency and adherence to legal protocols in ongoing investigations.
