20 Injured as RTC Bus Overturns in Suryapet; Steering Issue, Sudden Swerve Blamed
Suryapet | April 21, 2025: At least 20 passengers sustained injuries after an RTC bus overturned near Chintalapalem in Suryapet district on Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, the bus was en route from Kodad to Nakkagudem with more than 40 passengers onboard. Sources said the driver lost control of the vehicle due to a suspected steering wheel malfunction. In an attempt to avoid colliding with a biker, the driver swerved sharply, causing the bus to flip.
The injured passengers were immediately shifted to government hospitals in Mellacheruvu and Huzurnagar for treatment.
Police from Chinthalapalem have registered a case and launched a formal inquiry into the incident. Mechanical inspection of the bus is underway.
