Telangana Govt Launches Nutrition Scheme for Adolescent Girls

To improve girls’ health, Telangana launched a new pilot nutrition program.
The scheme will initially run in three districts.
It targets girls aged between 11 and 18 years.
Each girl will receive a ration kit, supplements, and awareness materials.
Nutrient-rich items with iron, calcium, and legumes will be distributed.
The Social Welfare Department will supervise the project.
It addresses the rising cases of anemia and miscarriage.
The CM issued special instructions for this initiative.
Women and child welfare departments are working in coordination.
The plan is to scale this statewide eventually.
Experts believe it will raise much-needed awareness.
Officials aim to conduct regular health reviews.
This program could serve as a model for other states.
Rural health camps are also part of the plan.
Telangana hopes it becomes a strong foundation for future girls’ health.
