Tolichowki Murder: 20-Year-Old Youth Fatally Stabbed by Brother-in-Law Over Money Dispute

Hyderabad | Crime Beat: In a shocking act of violence, a 20-year-old youth was murdered in Tolichowki, Hyderabad, on Sunday night. The victim, Mohd Muqeeduddin, was allegedly stabbed to death by his brother-in-law, Mohd Sameer, during a heated argument over the division of money from a stolen motorbike.
Muqeeduddin, who ran a scrap godown, had recently teamed up with Sameer to steal a two-wheeler from a local colony. After selling it, a dispute over the proceeds began brewing between the two.
A Dispute Turns Deadly
On Sunday night, the two met near a hotel in Tolichowki to resolve the issue. However, their discussion quickly spiraled into a violent confrontation. According to police, Sameer allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Muqeeduddin multiple times, targeting his chest and other critical areas.
Nearby residents rushed Muqeeduddin to a hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Police Investigation Underway
The Golconda police have registered a murder case and launched a manhunt to trace Sameer, who has been absconding since the incident. Investigators are also verifying whether any other individuals were involved in the theft or the dispute.

“We are pursuing multiple leads and reviewing CCTV footage from the area. The victim and accused are known to each other, which makes the betrayal even more tragic,” said a police official.

Community Reaction
The Tolichowki murder has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about how petty financial disputes are spiraling into deadly violence — even among family members. Residents are also urging the police to crack down on bike theft gangs and enforce stricter surveillance in the area.
